UPCOMING LITTERS
If you are sure you want an upcomming puppy, then a $200 deposit is required to have the pick of the litter (or 2nd pick if 1st is already taken etc.) Our policy on deposits is much more "buyer friendly" than you will find most places. Your deposit is fully refundable before the puppies are born. That means even if you found a puppy you wanted from another breeder, or deceided not to get a puppy at all, we would happily refund your deposit, any time you wanted it. If the litter was born, and you didn't find one you wanted, no problem, your deposit would be refunded. The deposit only becomes non-refundable after you have picked out a particular puppy that you want.
If you can't wait for one of our puppies, or are looking for a different puppy than we expect to have, contact us anyway. We may be able to assist in your search for a puppy. We have had experience with some other breeders, and we will give you our honest opinions about puppies from other breeders, and maybe some ideas about where to look for a special puppy. All breeders are different, not just bad or good, but different from each other. You need to find one that suits what you are looking for. We hope that we are that breeder, but we won't be upset if you don't get your puppy from us.
It looks like it may be a while before we have any more puppies coming, but a rest will probably be a good thing after taking care of 11 puppies at the same time, and in the winter yet! It is always nice to be able to take older puppies outside and let them run off some energy.
Daisy Mae didn't get pregnant. We were hoping it would happen, but Bogie is still kind of young, and Daisy Mae was not too interested in him yet.
Sassy SHOULD be pregnant, but she went into heat before she really should have, and the heat didn't last as long as it should have for her. I think she willed herself into going into heat because a couple of other dogs were, and she was jealous. (if any dog could do it, Sassy could) As it turns out, Sassy didn't get pregnant, but she went into something called false pregnancy. Usually when this happens, the dog will carry around a stuffed animal that she pretends is her puppy for a couple of weeks, and that is about that. In this case..... we have puppies, and Sassy is a smart girl. No stuffed puppy for her! She wants to nurse Skkylar's puppies. This is not a good thing and we are keeping her away from the puppy pen. What this will do to her heat cycle, I have no idea.
So..... it might be as long as 6-8 months before we have puppies again.
