Jenny's Dachshunds
Perhaps you are feeling like you need a big dog for your dachshund to play with.  You might be interested in a Bloodhound!  Bloodhounds are so gentle that they are even good with doxie puppies. They are one of the few breeds that is absolutely useless as a watchdog. I suppose an intruder might get knocked to the ground because the bloodhound was so glad to see him. Let's see...... A bloodhound might be dangerous to an intruder if he was allergic to dog saliva. I have never heard of anyone actually being licked to death, but.......   Don't, however, get the idea that they just lie around like they seem to do on TV. They are active, big, smart, friendly, dogs that need to run.  We got our Bubba at Belle's Bloodhounds. I don't know if Tia has any puppies available right now, but you can check the website.

If we don't have the dachshund you are looking for, and you don't mind a drive to Iowa, you might want to check out Jenny's Dachshunds.  The website also contains some good dachshund information.

I'm not too much into recommending products, although I do give some food recommendations, but there is one product that is so good that I think I need to spread the word about it. It is called Petz Life.

Here is the story.  We had a dachshund named Kilian. (actually my daughter still has him) Kilian has had epilepsy since he was a puppy. As Kilian got to be an older dog, his teeth got pretty nasty looking. You know, all brown especially on top. We took him to the vet to have his teeth cleaned. Kilian didn't do very well with the anesthstetic and had some pretty bad seizures when he got home. His teeth looked pretty good, but not perfect.  As time went on, he again got nasty brown teeth. I hesitated to take him to the vet for another cleaning both because it was expensive, didn't last very long, and I didn't want to risk another nasty seizure. More time went on and his teeth got brown from top to bottom. I asked another breeder for advice and was told about Petz Life. I brushed his teeth with it once a day, and used the spray once a day for about 3 weeks. The change was amazing. I kept on about once a day for another week and his teeth were as white as a puppy's teeth.  On the Petz Life website, there are "before and after" pictures. Kilian's teeth were MUCH WORSE than the "before" picture and MUCH BETTER than the "after" pictures!!

If you have a dog that is over a year old, and starting to get brown teeth on top, don't hesitate to buy Petz Life.  You aren't going to like the price very much.......$21-30 depending on where you order it or buy it...... but compare that to the price of a vet visit and a cleaning with anesthesia and it won't seem so bad.
